Gleeful Goshaini !

Blissful Boulevard

The day had begun to end with darkness all around the room. By now we knew that this night we would have no ray of electricity to help us light our rooms. Although this place had already lightened our deepest inner senses. This time the darkness brought an emphatic glow of bewilderment. The merriment in that wooden cottage was one that we would remember forever. We had to wake up early morning around 4 am to depart for Chandigarh to catch an evening flight for Mumbai, but the mind was startled at the idea of moving away from this gleeful utopia and moving on to the insipid dystopia of a metro.

As I was stashing up all my belongings into my bag, the last two days flashed coherently before my eyes. Maybe something tried to stop me from leaving but as always, the sudden drift to a reality of dire straits is what happens to us. Raju's Cottage was not just mirthful or limpid, it was a joyous transcendence to the real world where we belong. It was a wonderous habitat right in the heart of nature, fructuous enough to nurture thoughts of perennial happiness. In spite of this place being located in a small village named Goshaini (100 kms from Manali), it had the aura of a kingdom. Lao Tzus poem 'Wonder into Wonder existence opens' resonated in my mind, everytime I watched rumbling water flowing from the balcony. The poem had started to make a lot more sense in this zone of monolithic calmness. No ensemble of words can truly define the majestic attire of this little known place.

Every passing hour, made a deeper zone of unquestioned happiness within, which seldom happens in our modes of chaotic city life. The cornucopia of food and happiness around all day long, already had puzzled the mind. The moment I had stepped into the micro trolley to cross the river and reach this place, I had ascended to a zone of gleeful clairvoyance. Everything was so unique and unreal, almost like a dream. The crossing of the river sitting in a trolley, the walking in the bushes to reach the wooden cottage, dogs gathering around to show us the way, the mystique of the wind passing by, the smiling water passing by, the euphoric taste of every morsel that was gulped, it could not be real!

The journey to reach Raju's cottage had been a long one. We traveled across 1200kms of curvacious roads to reach this place but eventually it was all worth the run. But as they say all good things come to an end, this one did not come to an end as this was the best thing that could happen to us. So best things do not come to an end, they transform into glittering memories and the quest to get back to them always remains. In my next post, I would discuss the intricacies of our travel and more on the cottage as well ;).

P.S.- Always wanted to thank you Moss for writing essays for me in early high school, which made me write as I do even now. Loads of Love :-*.  And all those who wished that I write, a deep rooted smile to you all :D.
