From Manali with Love.. :)

We had just descended from a humdrum of a trek and reached Manali. The only thing that we could think of apart from going home was to have the Corn Cheese Sandwich which we had 5 days back before ensuing the journey. Just 10 mins before our bus for Chandigarh was departing we managed to lay our hands on that Sandwich and began our departure on a happy note.

The place where we had this sandwich was known as "Honey Hut Cafe". Out of all the shops or restaurants or cafes which we saw around Manali, the only name which I could remember is Honey Hut. There was something about this place and the corn cheese sandwich and the honey choco balls and the coffee that made it a place filled with immense jubilation. Some places just have that strong pull back quotient and this had place had it at the highest of quotients.
A month back while browsing through Zomato, the name Honey Hut Cafe appeared on the list in Mumbai. It was a happy moment with the whistling Manali coming back to the stagnant Mumbai mind and filling it with the captive air of mirth. The sandwich and the Cafe started drilling across the mind. After a month of planning to visit the place, last week we finally managed to hit the roads with the GPS to get into close reach of this place. The place in Mumbai is located in another city. However paradoxical it may sound, but its located in Andheri so has to be a distant location. But no location that brings about happiness is far enough. So inspite of all the work tiredness, managed to reach seven bungalows 30 minutes before its closing time of 11:30.
It was a compact cafe with loads of moistened joy all around.

We ordered chocolate truffle, masala idli, corn cheese sandwich and hazelnut latte. Best thing is that everything is served with honey, even the coffee!! The idli was the best version of idli that I have managed to have so far, combining idli with a 1000 island kind of a dressing and adding some spices to it and then topping it up with some royal honey. We could not manage to head back to Manali this year, but visiting this cafe gave us quite some free smiles :).

Honey Hut Cafe has its origination in Shimla with around 10 franchisees around the country. Its menu and its setup is quite unique for me. Next time you decide to go for a night outing and happen to reach Andheri, do not miss this gem. In a span of 30 mins we did manage to befriend Mr.Kamal, the manager and got ourselves a discount, a cup and a certificate ;). The small joys of life begin with the resonance of memories of the past, don't they? :)
