How Hot is your Chocolate?

In the medieval period we had days where hot chocolate meant 'Hot Horlicks', 'Hot Milo', 'Hot Bournvita', 'Hot Hersheys' ! In fact some where in the 6th grade when Milo distributed free cups of hot milk with Milo I was more than enthralled at the taste of its offering. I had thought nothing could beat that drink ever...

But coming to the modern age and the total evolution of food and food outlets within our city, which has made authentic cuisines pretty much within the reach of any food addict, the cusp of the hot chocolate graph has shifted a bit. The search for the quintessential hot chocolate is still on but the drinks offered by some of the outlets within our city are way beyond blissful. My personal on the hotness meter is still 'Food For Thought'(FFT) at Fountain. The depth, texture, taste and hotness of its hot chocolate is indeed a sip for the yearning struck and choco crazy mind. I would not say that I am chocolate maniac but when you end up having such drinks, you end up falling in love.

The next outlet which has hit the right chord is 'La Folie', whose chocolate drink might not be as thick as FFT but its definitely too rich in its taste. Many people still consider it the best hot chocolate but for me it still remains below FFT. Moving on from Fountain and Kala Ghoda, the next pit stop to evolve our platonic relationship with Hot Chocolate would be Pizza By the Way. The drink over here is good enough to drift our mind away from despair. We might not be able to derive the teleology behind the greatness of hot chocolate but can still try our best to bow down to its taste.

The next stop would be at, Suzette's which with its perfect French structure delivers a rich in taste chocolate but which at times can be sans thickness. For its unscrupulous uniformity, I would rate Moshe's to be higher up the rank with its ever interesting hot chocolate. The quest to find the best hot chocolate is still on, with these being the best of what I have had. Beyond city limits, I happened to taste another marvel at Zuka in Pondicherry which was again artistic yet influential in taste. Still, sometimes in times of frugality, bournvita takes away the heart and Hersheys brings on a smile :)
